Yes, as long as it is adapted to your pregnancy. The Mommy Glow Reset combines a gentle peel, nanoneedling, cryo and a nourishing mask, without retinol (vitamin A). We do not do microneedling, laser or strong peels during pregnancy. It costs €175, takes 60 minutes and is available at our three Amsterdam clinics.

What's included
Four steps, adapted to your skin
We start by talking through your wishes, your pregnancy and your skin. Your therapist then chooses the steps and products that suit you. You lie half-upright or slightly tilted, so it stays comfortable with a bump.
-
Gentle peel — a fresh start
A mild, hydrating peel loosens dead skin cells and targets breakouts and dullness. If your therapist is unsure whether this step suits you, we simply skip it.
-
Nanoneedling — a smoother surface
A pen with a fine nano tip glides over your skin. Unlike microneedling, no needles go into the skin: nanoneedling works on the surface only, together with a serum chosen for your skin.
-
Cryo — cooling for your skin
A cold treatment step with the Hubislab CryoFacial, without nitrogen. Your skin feels fresh and comfortable afterwards.
-
Mask — a nourishing finish
We finish with a mask that matches what your skin needs that day, and you leave with advice for your routine at home.

Pregnancy acne, breakouts or dull skin
Pregnancy hormones affect your skin. Some women get the famous pregnancy glow; others get breakouts, pregnancy acne or a dull, dry complexion. And the actives you relied on before, such as retinol, are best left out for now.
The Mommy Glow Reset can help with breakouts and dullness. The peel and nanoneedling loosen dead skin cells, while the serum and mask care for your skin. Results vary from person to person. Your therapist also gives you advice for a pregnancy-friendly routine at home.
A postpartum facial, also while breastfeeding
The Mommy Glow Reset is just as much for the months after birth. Short nights and shifting hormones often show in your skin, and an hour that is only about you makes a difference.
Breastfeeding? We take that into account when choosing products and steps. Plan your postpartum facial whenever you feel ready. After a C-section, or if your recovery is not going as expected, check with your midwife or GP first.
What we do, and don't do, during pregnancy
This is how our skin therapists and beauticians work during pregnancy and for as long as you are breastfeeding.
We do
- Nanoneedling: surface only, no needles going into the skin
- Cryo: a cold treatment step
- LED light therapy
- A mild, hydrating peel
- Facials with products adapted to your pregnancy
We don't
- Microneedling
- Laser and IPL
- Strong chemical peels and PRX-T33
- Products with retinol (vitamin A)
- Injectables, such as fillers or wrinkle treatments
Pigmentation and melasma (the "mask of pregnancy"): pigment tends to be more active during pregnancy, so we wait with pigmentation treatments until after pregnancy and breastfeeding. Until then, a daily high-SPF sunscreen helps most. Read about hyperpigmentation.
The Mommy Glow Reset is a cosmetic treatment, not a medical one. If you are unsure whether a treatment suits you, check with your midwife or GP first.

Pregnancy facial: frequently asked questions
Can you get a facial while pregnant?
Yes, as long as the treatment is adapted to your pregnancy. That is why the Mommy Glow Reset uses gentle steps only: a mild hydrating peel, nanoneedling on the skin's surface, cryo and a nourishing mask. We do not use retinol (vitamin A), and we do not do microneedling, laser or strong peels while you are pregnant.
Which facial treatments should you avoid when pregnant?
At SKIN we do not do microneedling, laser or IPL, strong chemical peels, PRX-T33 or injectables during pregnancy, and we leave out products with retinol (vitamin A). We also wait with pigmentation treatments until after pregnancy and breastfeeding, because pigment tends to be more active in this period.
Is nanoneedling the same as microneedling?
No. Microneedling uses fine needles that go into the skin, which we do not do during pregnancy. Nanoneedling uses a nano tip that glides over the surface of the skin, with no needles going in. It loosens dead skin cells and helps the serum do its work.
Can I have a facial while breastfeeding?
Yes. Mention in the booking note that you are breastfeeding. Your skin therapist takes this into account when choosing products and steps, and leaves out anything that does not suit you at that moment.
When can I get a facial after giving birth?
Whenever you feel ready. If you feel recovered and would like an hour for yourself, you are welcome. After a C-section, or if your recovery is not going as expected, check with your midwife or GP first.
Does the Mommy Glow Reset help with pregnancy acne?
It can help with breakouts and a dull complexion: the peel and nanoneedling loosen dead skin cells, and the serum and mask care for your skin. Results vary from person to person. If you have many inflamed or painful spots, a facial is not enough on its own; talk to your GP or midwife.
How much is a pregnancy facial at SKIN Amsterdam?
The Mommy Glow Reset costs €175 and takes 60 minutes, including the peel, nanoneedling, cryo and mask. You can book it at all three of our Amsterdam clinics: Oud-West, Centrum and Oud-Zuid.
What should I mention when I book?
Add a note with how many weeks pregnant you are or how long ago you gave birth, and whether you are breastfeeding. If you take medication or have skin concerns your therapist should know about, mention those too.
