Step by step

What can you expect?

Every skin reacts differently. Below you will find an overview of what you can expect before, during and after the treatment.

Before treatment

Consultation

Assessment of your skin and discussion of whether polynucleotides are the right complement to microneedling.

Treatment

Needling + Salmon DNA

Through micro-channels, polynucleotides — purified DNA fragments — are delivered deep into the skin. They repair damaged cells and stimulate collagen and elastin production.

Aftercare

Hydrated results

Redness similar to mild sunburn, usually gone within 1-2 days. The skin feels immediately plumper and more supple. Optimal after 5-6 sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this treatment suitable for?

Microneedling with polynucleotides is suitable for anyone who wants to give their skin an intensive regeneration and rejuvenation boost. It is particularly ideal for: * Fine lines and early wrinkles * Dull, tired or dehydrated skin * Reduced elasticity and skin laxity * Pigmentation and an uneven skin tone * (Acne) scars and enlarged pores * Sensitive or weakened skin barrier * Skin that needs to recover faster after treatments In short: perfect for anyone who wants more than standard microneedling, with extra focus on anti-ageing, hydration and deep skin repair.

How many treatments are needed?

You often see results after just one treatment — the skin immediately becomes hydrated, smoother and gains more glow. However, we usually work in a course, because the deeper skin improvement builds up in the weeks that follow. We typically recommend 5 to 6 treatments, with 3 to 4 weeks between each session, to achieve the best and most long-lasting results.

Is the treatment painful?

The treatment is generally well tolerated. You may experience a mild tingling or tickling sensation from the microneedling, but most people find it perfectly manageable. Polynucleotides themselves do not feel painful and actually have a calming and hydrating effect, which often makes the treatment more comfortable than standard microneedling. We can always adjust the intensity to your comfort level.

What does my skin look like after the treatment?

Immediately after the treatment, your skin may look red, as if you have been lightly sunburnt. This usually subsides within a few hours to a maximum of 1-2 days. Your skin often feels immediately hydrated, supple and plumper, thanks to the polynucleotides. You may also experience some mild warmth, sensitivity or very subtle roughness in the following days — this is part of the recovery process. Then comes the glow: within a few days, the skin looks fresher, smoother and more rested, while the deeper skin improvement continues to build in the weeks that follow.

Can I wear makeup after the treatment?

We recommend not wearing makeup for at least 24 hours after the treatment. Your skin needs time to recover and allow the polynucleotides to work optimally. After 24 hours, you can use makeup again, as long as it is non-comedogenic and your skin does not feel irritated. For the best results: the longer you leave your skin makeup-free, the better it can recover.

What do polynucleotides actually do?

Polynucleotides give the skin a deep regeneration and repair boost. They support the repair of damaged skin cells at DNA level, activate collagen and elastin production and provide intensive hydration from within. They also have a calming and anti-inflammatory effect, helping redness subside faster and strengthening the skin barrier. Additionally, they improve skin tone and texture, causing pigmentation marks to fade and the skin to appear more even and smoother. In short: polynucleotides repair, rejuvenate and strengthen the skin at a level that microneedling alone cannot reach.

Is home care needed?

Home care helps enhance results and speed up recovery. We recommend using a gentle, non-irritating cleanser in the days following the treatment, keeping the skin well hydrated and always wearing SPF. Active ingredients such as retinol, acids (AHA/BHA) or vitamin C should temporarily be avoided until the skin has fully recovered. With the right aftercare, your skin stays calmer, recovers faster and you enjoy the results for longer.

What is the difference compared to regular microneedling?

The key difference is that polynucleotides add an extra regenerative and rejuvenating effect on top of what microneedling alone can achieve. Microneedling activates the skin by creating micro-channels and stimulating natural collagen production. Polynucleotides go a step further: they repair damaged skin cells at DNA level, stimulate fibroblasts more intensively, provide deep hydration, calm inflammation and strengthen the skin barrier. As a result, the skin is not only activated but truly repaired and renewed from within. The result is smoother, firmer, more even and better hydrated skin than with microneedling alone.

What is the difference compared to exosome microneedling?

The difference lies mainly in how the skin is improved and which skin goal the treatment is most suited to. Microneedling with polynucleotides focuses on deep skin repair, collagen building and hydration. Polynucleotides act as building blocks for the skin: they repair damaged cells, stimulate fibroblasts for more collagen and strengthen the skin barrier. This makes it especially effective for anti-ageing, fine lines, laxity, dryness and improving overall skin quality. Microneedling with exosomes works differently: exosomes are signalling molecules that tell cells what to do. They direct repair and regeneration, calm inflammation and accelerate healing. This makes exosomes particularly suitable for sensitive skin, redness, inflammation, (acne) scars and recovery after more intensive treatments. In short: * Polynucleotides = building, rejuvenation, hydration and firming. * Exosomes = repair, calming, regeneration and evening out. Both are powerful, but they deliver slightly different effects depending on what the skin needs most at that moment.
